Danny Bryant's Redeyeband - Blue Cafe Apeldoorn 07.15.2011

Life is choices and as well as this weekend there was plenty of choice again for me to get some experience in the blues world. Peer Blues Festival and Big Rivers Dordrecht were so again ways to go enjoy some blues spectacle. Also Danny Bryant's Redeyeband was back in the neighborhood and a good option. And the latter is preferred before me. Due to the location of event, the always charming blues café in Apeldoorn where Jan Kerseboom for about seventeen years at the helm in a way that the blues in the Netherlands or in life must keep.

After the afternoon enjoying some of what terraces and a delicious bite to eat, I was on time at the blues cafe to have some quiet chat with some blues related persons. Also the entire family with Trevor Bryant Barr (drums) had plenty of time to get some time to spend on the environment and the internal feeding prior to a spectacular show to begin. Build and soundcheck went smoothly and everything was so ready to actually let splashing.

A bit later than planned was the first song from the hit and followed one after another strong number of Danny. The band was having fun because there was also regularly laughed among themselves which to me is just the words and humor were missed, but I laughed merrily along, of course, I was indeed enjoying myself. Danny played tight and was as usual well-directed working with the public to them with his play and mime to make sense. Wonderful to this guy to see play with his power blues to also the fine stringed guitar work is not to warn, though is it necessary that the guests take the quack keep that worked miracles several times in the blues bar. Lovely crowd so.

Walk away, Heartbreaker, Last man standing, Good time woman, Last goodbye and so did my favorite songs like Always With Me, Girl from the north country, and Master of disaster came over. These last two songs coincidental covers of Bob Dylan and John Hiatt are also the songs really find my appreciation of the work of Danny. In itself strong songs, but the way she brings Danny comes still life and makes them very strong stand out among the rest. Nothing wrong with a cover like this Danny transforms into a true delight to the ear. But of course, the most appreciation for this Redeyeband for imaginative work terribly delicate ballads on the program.

Voodoo Chile as an encore came again to an end, but luckily we will Danny still regularly encounter in the Dutch blues circuit, as on Saturday, September 17, 2011 a performance at the Turning point in Rosmalen, where shooting will take place from the first dvd Danny Bryant's Redeyeband.

    Bossche Bluesnight 01/07/2011

Place of the event Den Bosch was voted most hospitable city in the Netherlands in 2010. This but decided to make the Bossche blues event a two-day event to make. On the one hand the first time this Bossche Bluesnight to do and also to those hospitality once again to taste. About the hospitality we can agree, that's fine. But may I also say that when I cities like Sydney, Sydney, Flushing or Haarlem disorder. So basically not notice the added value of this prize awarded. Course, the giant sense.

The blues night itself was a great spectacle, partly due to the huge stage in these days include hip hop and house parties were put down and grateful by the blues department was used. The drummer of Mr. Richard Mocambo Blues Emperor had taken up the request and there is a magnificent quartet bands for chartered to fill this evening. What about Drivin 'South - Twelve Bar Blues Band - The Veldman Brothers and Mocambo Blues to finish. Beforehand it an evening to your blues finger-licking good and that you would say full house. The stage was the size where many blues bands would like to play, but the tank was also very big to fill up. Probably because the whole event was dominated by the next day to keep raves searched in vain for many people the input or the input invited them not to enter. Too much monitoring, accompanying such blues events really not necessary. The main organization was probably afraid of riots and that was the next evening at the house done well to notice. Police rarely have much in the center leg. Apparently this is needed for the parties of the young but really not in the older youths hanging blues. Next year for sure what accessible.

Enough criticism for now and into the blues notes. Drivin'South was the turn to this festival to begin. Unfortunately, the mob still busy with the meal or else the beginning of the weekend to celebrate, but especially in this first appearance came the visitors number is not higher than a man or a hundred. Too bad, but the absentees have missed a great performance. Where I over a year ago Drivin'South listened to quite an upper hand to covers and very nice to me when own work, this action consisted mainly of own work at all what a beautiful picture of what they have to offer. Especially after this performance, I can say how much the band has grown. Hopefully the men and women strong do their best and make a fat CD this year. Definitely an addition to my collection.

Twelve Bar Blues Band that has the CD Key to your heart already done in 2010, still a welcome guest in my CD player. Also this action 12BBB was one to enjoy. Direct gas there Can you hear me howlin 'which is also the first song on the CD was recently published. The drive there from start to finish in at this great blues quintet. I also like Email from heaven and Twelve bar blues came to the great satisfaction over. Tight set put down in an hour what they were there for.

The next hour was for The Veldman Brothers, also a very pleasant band to visit. These brothers Marco and Donald both brothers Gerrit Veldman and Benny on the straight path, keeping rhythm played a bold set. There were songs like One more change and extremely beautiful Leavin not lacking. Rough to very sensitive blues followed each other and then again about an hour too fast. For now I'm still just do with them in January 2011 released CD, spreadin 'arround. It would not surprise me if The Veldman Brothers are the successors of the Twelve Bar Blues Band for the title of best blues band of the Dutch Blues Foundation. We're going to continue this year.

And why can Mocambo Blues this honor not to befall? The valve of this evening was a worthy. This former SRV cover band once briefly seen so sometimes a whole hour. Since 2008, the cover band image left and start working on their own work and now busy with those numbers put together a CD full of rugged Texas blues, I am in full anticipation. Fortunately they have not quite work the SRV said goodbye and was on the end and a veritable feast of recognition with songs like Pride and joy and Texas flood which the brothers Veldman the ranks of Mocambo Blues came reinforcing. For me a band to definitely give a whole gig to go watch and listen.

Further highlights of the evening had to be the talk of the bands by Bert Reinders "The Bluesman" the good organization, the location, the sound, the stage and the hospitality of Den Bosch. Definitely worth repeating and I love the 2012 edition in the holes.

Via you tube under the name Bossche Blues Night 2011 nice images of the bands to watch.
